En aquesta ocasió no us parlarem de panoràmiques, però sí de fotografies: ens fem ressò de la publicació d'un llibre de fotografies sobre la capital de Nepal, Kathmandu. El llibre l'ha editat l'editorial Adliteram i se'n poden demanar tant exemplars com es vulguin a la botiga online d'impressió sota demanda Lulu.
Es tracta d'un recorregut pels carrers d'aquesta mil·lenària capital de l'Himàlaia. En aquesta publicació, que té format de llibre de fotografia de viatges, copsareu el dia a dia dels seus habitants. Però sobretot hi trobareu imatges dels seus habitants més menuts: nens i nenes jugant a l'hora del pati, a classe o deambulant pels carrers.

A travel to Tibet, that enigmatic and mysterious country (now under Chinese sovereignty), has been for years in my mind. In summer 2007 I set off to New Delhi. We didn’t intend to spend too much time nor in India, neither in Nepal. Although feeling disappointed, we re adapted our holidays to travel and discover that little country. Kathmandu offers you a mixture of cultures and religions. I discovered that city rambling through the streets and visiting some schools just to get an idea of how children are educated.
I mainly discovered smiles in the streets and in classrooms, and polite children full of curiosity. However, poverty is everywhere and malnutrition is extended. So is child prostitution. The aim of this publication is that it has no aim: neither show the happy face of a poor country, nor denounce the evil life of child prostitution. Just show what I see rambling through the streets of Kathmandu
The photo in the cover of this book may resume it all: a little gathered frown of a child with a hard life.
